Valentine’s Day Bible Countdown Chain

Here is an easy DIY Bible countdown chain for Valentine’s day. All the printables are included!

Bible Countdown Chain for Valentine's Day

I got the idea for a Valentine’s day countdown chain from Catholic Icing. Since I ask my kids to memorize (or re-memorize) the “love chapter” (1 Corinthians 13:4-9) every February, I decided to make my own chain and put a portion of the passage on each strip. Every day, the kids have to say the verse for that day, as well as the previous verses. If you want to add a scavenger hunt into the mix, you can use these verses in conjunction with our Bible Verse Countdown Scavenger Hunt. Enjoy!

Supplies:

Scissors, stapler, hole puncher, ribbon, and free printables: Love Verses 1, Love Verses 2, Pattern 1, and Pattern 2.

1. Gather supplies and print all of the free printables. If you want to print on colored paper (or have your kids color the chain), then print only the black and white printables. If you would like to use the colored printables, print the patterns on the backside of the Bible verse pages (see image 1). Each daily verse is listed on an alternating page, so that the patterns will alternate on the chain.

2. Cut out each verse on the dotted line. Fold each strip in half (the crease will make the bottom the heart shape). Staple the ends of the first verse together (see image 2) to form a heart.

3. Do not staple the remaining strips until you link them one by one with the previous heart. Make sure to link them in order by number (see image 3).

4. Use a hole puncher to make a hole in the top and bottom of the “Love is” sign. Attach the 14th verse to the bottom of the sign with a ribbon (see image 4).

5. Attach a ribbon to the top of the “Love is” sign and hang it wherever desired.
