Background

Mark Twain is the pen name for Samuel Langhorne Clemens (1835 – 1910). Though Twain is best known for The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventues of Tom Sawyer, he created several other classics, one of them being the Diaries in which he creatively imagines what Adam and Eve might have written in their respective diaries about their new world and about each other. Though each seems a bit mystified and even frustrated by the other, Twain makes sure to reveal the tenderness and love they feel for one another. Setting any theological accuracy aside, this fictional account of Adam and Even is sure to make you laugh.
