Sloppy “Jack” Pie Recipe

Sloppy Joe PieIngredients:

2 pie crusts
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 cups ketchup
6 T. water
3 T. brown sugar
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. mustard
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. onion powder
1 t. salt
egg yolk and orange food coloring

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. In a large saucepan, cook beef over medium heat and drain.

3. Stir in remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil.

4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for approximately 30 minutes.

5. Lay and form one crust into a pie plate. Place this bottom crust in the oven for 5 minutes.

6. Remove from oven, and scoop hamburger mixture into pie crust

7. Cut a jack-o’lantern face in the remaining pie crust (reserving one of the cut-outs for a stem).

8. Place the jack-o-lantern face on top of the hamburger mixture.

9. Blend egg and orange food coloring together and brush on the pie.

10. Bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until crust is golden.
