Paper Cone Christmas Tree Craft

This easy paper cone Christmas tree is fun for kids to decorate however they like. The trees can sit flat on the ground or be elevated up on a wooden stick.

Here are the supplies and directions for a paper cone Christmas tree craft ornament:

Supplies:

Green Construction Paper
Beads, Ribbon or Paint for Decorating
Wooden Star
Gold Paint
1/2″ Diameter Wooden Stick (Optional)
Small Wooden Flower Pot (Optional)
Playdough or Clay (Optional)
Beads or Small Rocks (Optional)
Tape
Glue Gun
Scissors

Directions:

1. See First Palette for helpful instructions on making a tall cone. Your can determine the height of your cone.

2. Once your cone is formed, tape the seam.

3. If you decorate the tree with beads and/or ribbon, use a glue gun to secure. Otherwise, decorate with paint.

4. Paint the wooden star gold, as well as the flower pot (if you choose to place your tree in a pot) .

5. When the star is dry, glue it to the top of the tree.

6. If using the pot, place playdough or clay in the bottom.

7. Place the wooden stick in the playdough or clay and cover with beads or small rocks.

8. Place the tree on top of the stick and glue at the top to secure it.
