Caesar Salad in a Parmesan Lace Bowl

For special occasions, I love to make these parmesan lace bowls. They are perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Parmesan Lace SaladIngredients:

2 cups parmesan cheese, finely shredded
Romaine lettuce
Caesar Salad Dressing*
Croutons, Caesar salad flavored

*I like Cardini’s.

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On baking sheets spread 4 mounds (two on each baking sheet) of 1/2 cup parmesan cheese each and spread into 5-inch rounds (see image 1).

2. Bake one pan at a time in the middle of the oven until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. When it is done, it should be golden brown and should fold over your spatula when you pick it up (see image 2).

3. Working with one round at a time, quickly transfer cheese with a thin spatula to an inverted custard cup (making sure that the bottom of the cup is flat). Form a bowl (see image 3). Repeat with the next cheese round. Cool completely, and then remove carefully.

4. Mix remaining ingredients, and serve in parmesan lace bowls (see image 4).
