Peanut Butter Bars Recipe

If you are a peanut butter and chocolate fan, you will love this easy no bake recipe. It tastes like a Reese’s peanut butter cup. Since Reese’s are always the first of the Halloween candy to disappear in my house, I find myself craving these delicious peanut butter bars. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter BarsIngredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter (about 16 oz. jar)
12 – 14 graham crackers (2 cups crushed)
4 cups powdered sugar
1 (11 1/2 0z) bag milk chocolate chips (about 2 cups)*

*I recommend Nestle; some generic brands don’t melt or spread well.

Directions:

1. Use an electric mixer to blend butter and peanut butter together.

2. Use a rolling pin to crush 12 -14 graham crackers in a Ziploc bag.

3. Gradually add graham crackers and sugars into butter mixture.

4. Spread in a greased 13×9″ pan.

5. Melt chocolate chips in microwave. Start with 1 minute on 50% power stir and then heat on high at 10 second intervals until it is ready to spread. Be careful not to overheat. Even if there are still a few lumps, stir well, and they may melt away.

6. Spread chocolate over peanut butter mixture.

7. Allow to cool and then cut into individual bars.  Note that if you try to cut the bars after chilling them in the refrigerator, the chocolate cracks.

8. Optional: store in the refrigerator. Remove 10-15 minutes before serving
