Christmas Music #1 (Come Thou Long Expected)

I am thrilled to be starting a new series called 25 Days of Christmas Music (this link takes you to the landing page for this series). Today, November 30th, is the first day of Advent 2014. The term advent comes from the Latin word adventus, which means “coming.” In the early Middle Ages, this term came to apply to a period of preparation for Christ’s birth, his “coming” into the world, on Christmas day. With that in mind, the first song that I have selected is “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.”

You can click on the image below to link to our Come Thou Long Expected Jesus page; it includes a lyric video for singing along, as well as a brief history of this classic song.
