Lasagna Recipe

lasagnaIngredients:

LAYER 1:
1 8-ounce container lasagna noodles

LAYER 2:
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

LAYER 3:
1 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced

LAYER 4:
1 pound ground beef*
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 14 1/2-ounce can tomatoes, cut-up
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon salt

TOPPING:
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated

*Turkey Sausage is a tasty alternative.

Directions:

1. Cook noodles as directed on package. Drain, rinse and set aside.
2. Beat eggs, then add ricotta, parmesan, parsley, salt and pepper. Set aside.
3. Cook meat, onion and garlic in saucepan until meat is brown. Drain off fat.
4. Add tomatoes (do not drain), tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil and salt. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
5. Layer half of the noodles in a 13×9″ pan, half of ricotta mixture, half the mozzarella, then half of the meat sauce. Repeat layers and sprinkle with parmesan.
6. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
